[ There comes a point in every young man's life where he must venture into a panfandom scientific enclosure to retrieve his Navy uniform, in spite of his misgivings in regard to giant robots. Much like a new Pokemon trainer must set out on his own, but with marginally fewer chances of being struck by lightning.

Really, this is your run of the mill exploration of Luceti's village proper, complete with walking into buildings while staring at the ceiling, obtaining +1 midshipman's uniform and unintentional (somewhat intentional) people watching.

Barring whenever it is that Mister Wellard walks into somebody for being preoccupied, that is. And the point in the day where he somehow accumulates a small following of ducks.

He's... he's not really sure what that's about. They're just sort of there when he's walking, hanging out when he sits down, occasionally demanding bread, which he obviously can't not get for them. They're talking ducks. He can only hold out hope that ducks don't have the ability to group into attack formations. ]

[Rin's actually watching him get the uniform before the ducks, so take that. ...That is a very cool uniform, actually. He'll stare a bit]

[ Rin, the rebel!! Wellard.

Glances at him awkwardly. Did he do something... :|a ]

-That's a cool outfit!

[ Ffffrown but not as much anything but confused; that's an odd thing to say. Do people. Just comment on outfit temperature sometimes here. ]

I suppose so. Cool enough. [ It's winter, he doesn't... really... ]

[rashness]

Totally! So is that like a uniform or...?

[bravelad]

[ A nod. ] It is. I'm a midshipman, in His Majesty's Royal Service.

[ COMPLETELY PROUD OF THAT. It took work and effort and he somehow still got there. A slight headtilt, though, and a bit of a self-correcting tone. ] Was a midshipman. Luceti... isn't much for a Navy.

[ There's the Britannia, but that's not entirely the same. Complicated matters. Gah. ]

[rashness]

[he is about to ask what a "midshipman" is when it is clarified by the "navy" part. Rin tilts his head, looking thoughtful. Wait, so his majesty which... huh...]

So you're like a knight working for a king on the water?

[bravelad]

Not really. [ The corners of his mouth twitch. ] A knight's assistant, possibly.

[rashness]

...So you're like an Esquire, like me!

[bravelad]

[ ...he used the term 'Esquire.' Oh, that's interesting.

Wellard is vaguely starting to realize to himself that he should not make parallels. ]

In a way?

[rashness]

Well like... I don't have a meister yet, but I'm higher than a page, so it's probably about the same, right?

[bravelad]

I think we might be able to say as much. [ It's tough to wrap his head around it, but he can almost understand and that's fine enough for him. This is someone younger than their twenties, from the look of things, and he's hardly considering lodging a complaint when someone apparently in his general age group is speaking with him. ]

[rashness]

[Fifteen. 5'8 He definitely is younger. And he shifts a bit before clapping this guy on a shoulder]

We're kindred spirits, I can feel it.

[bravelad]

[ Oh. That's. Nice. ]

Hen...ry. Henry, huh! Well, I'm Rin.

[bravelad]

Rin. [ Huh. ] Have you been in Luceti long.

[rashness]

...Longer than I want to be.

[bravelad]

That's unfortunate to hear. I think the majority of people I've spoken with share the sentiment.

Well yeah - if they're anything like me, they got something they gotta be doing back home. I've got something real important to handle.
