[ There comes a point in every young man's life where he must venture into a panfandom scientific enclosure to retrieve his Navy uniform, in spite of his misgivings in regard to giant robots. Much like a new Pokemon trainer must set out on his own, but with marginally fewer chances of being struck by lightning.

Really, this is your run of the mill exploration of Luceti's village proper, complete with walking into buildings while staring at the ceiling, obtaining +1 midshipman's uniform and unintentional (somewhat intentional) people watching.

Barring whenever it is that Mister Wellard walks into somebody for being preoccupied, that is. And the point in the day where he somehow accumulates a small following of ducks.

He's... he's not really sure what that's about. They're just sort of there when he's walking, hanging out when he sits down, occasionally demanding bread, which he obviously can't not get for them. They're talking ducks. He can only hold out hope that ducks don't have the ability to group into attack formations. ]

I've been hoping they're equally aware.

They probably are, but that won't keep them from just following you around.

Do you think so, miss? I'm afraid I haven't had very many dealings with them. [ Which is kind of too bad, they're... nice enough. ]

[redheaded_rock]

They're fun little guys. [She smiles and offers her hand.] Alexis, by the way.

[bravelad]

[ He looks at the hand for a couple of long seconds. And then slowly, awkwardly, reaches out to take it.

[She shakes his hand and smiles.] Alexis Rodgers. It's nice to meet you.

[ Oh awesome, he didn't screw it up somehow. His return smile is on the tight side, but still genuine enough. ]

Have you been in Luceti very long, Miss Rodgers?

[redheaded_rock]

A while, yeah. [She pulls her hand back; he's obviously a little uncomfortable.] Long enough to know some ins and outs if you have questions.

[bravelad]

Thank you. That's very kind of you. [ And he can say that much with complete sincerity. ]

[redheaded_rock]

It's no problem. [She winks at him.] Surviving in Luceti, step one: always have a little food for the ducks. Once you've fed them, they always remember you as the bearer of food.

[bravelad]

[ A grin. ] There are far worse things to be remembered as.

[redheaded_rock]

[And an answering grin.] I bet. You're making a good first impression on them, though.

[bravelad]

It's not often I get the chance to.

[redheaded_rock]

A chance to do what? Make a good first impression?

[bravelad]

Yes. Impressions are often quick to come by, and I tend to be... unaware that the opportunity is present.
